On Saturday (July 16, 2011) we once again spent a hot summer day in a non-air conditioned space playing the same song over and over while Luke Hartley’s camera captured every nuanced moment at 60 frames per second.

Of course, that was only a small portion of the work involved in releasing the music video for Labrador. Luckily, while Luke is slaving away in Final Cut Pro you can snatch a glimpse of some stills captured during Saturday’s shoot. Browse over yonder: Labrador Shoot, Part 1

Sometimes our website is the “last to know”, we’re trying to remedy that. Here’s a bunch of things going on in our world.

Our new album Our Manderley was released Jan. 25th 2011. It can be streamed from our Bandcamp page and purchased from Amazon (vinyl – includes a download card).

Jeff Milo (Real Detroit / Deep Cutz) wrote some nice things about us here.

August Smith (Mostly Midwest) wrote some nice things about us here.

Jonathan A Berz (Real Detroit / Notes from the Underground / Songs from the moon) wrote some nice things about us here. He shot a video before he published those nice things.

We had a release show and Jon Berz took some pictures and shot a video here.

Mostly Midwest invited us to do a Bridgehouse Session on Feb. 4th.

WMTU invited us to play the Orpheum Theater in Hancock, MI, Feb. 5th.

We have two local shows scheduled, both at record stores (Record Time, Roseville, Feb. 11th & UHF, Royal Oak, Feb. 12th). If you go to both you will get a free LP of Our Manderley.

Clarkston’s Union invited us to play on Feb 26th. If you’re a fan of our previous album The Carrot Chase, be sure to check out this show. We’re playing that and Our Manderley back-to-back.

Elegant Exclusory Exclusives

Never one to rest on our laurels, we’ve been busy readying some special incentives for those planning on attending the Our Manderley LP release show (Jan. 29th, Berkley Front, MI, USA).

First off, the show is a Sh! Mob event. Even if you can’t attend, start gathering unique photos, videos, and witty tweets.

Secondly, if you’re a fan of gig posters you’re in luck. We’ll be giving away 25 limited edition 18×24″ hand screened posters to the first 25 purchasers of Our Manderley on vinyl. The “Ghost Swan” design is limited to a run of 50 (designed by our very own Randy Bishop and screened by Progress of Design in Ferndale, MI). After the giveaway, posters will be available for sale at the lunatic low price of $10.

Thirdly, our in-house amateur craft brewers (Chris & Randy) brewed a special wheat ale to coincide with the release. Instead of hording it all to themselves they’ve decided to hand over 25 custom labeled bottles to go along with the poster giveaway. That’s right, if you’re one of the lucky first 25 to purchase Our Manderley on vinyl you’ll get both the “Ghost Swan” poster and a bottle of “Our Manderale.”
